The Challenge
Trailer Engineering was approached by Dorset Fire and Rescue services to come up with a trailer design for a mobile Electrical Safety Demonstration Unit.
The trailer was to be kitted out as a house living room setting to highlight potential fire risks, the aim of the unit was to keep the trailer as light as possible so that a towing licence was not required for the younger members of the service staff.
The Solution
Trailer Engineering's research and development team set to work on designing a lightweight unit built out of aluminium cladding to save on weight.
The Trailer would be complete with rear and side opening doors to showcase the living room set, all on a single axle trailer weighing in below 750kg gross.
The Result
Dorset Fire and Rescue service now have a lightweight demonstration trailer that anyone in the service can tow to public events so they can highlight the potential dangers of fires in the home.
