The Red Arrows
Trailer Engineering was approached by the RAF Aerobatic team the Red Arrows who was looking for a twin compartment Bowser for the purpose of mixing and delivering dye into the aircraft for their famous red and blue smoke.
The Bowser needed to be of a capacity of 2000 litres and be capable of going on the highway as well as being able to be secured by lashing points for aircraft transportation.
Trailer Engineering set out to design and build a stainless-steel tank with two compartments one for blue and one for red dye.
They also designed a system that would recirculate the dye before dispensing as to get an even mix to elevate any settlement that might have occurred during storage.
The system was powered by twin diesel run engines with pumps and a twin hand pump back up system was fitted to ensure delivery was not a problem.
All built on a highway tow chassis with toolbox and hose storage.
The RAF Red Arrows Aerobatic team now have an independent dye refuelling system that delivers.
Trailer Engineering offer a bespoke build service from concept to design to build all in house and are proud to be part of British manufacturing.
