When owning a helicopter or providing ground support to small aircraft either on an airfield / airport (heliport) or even out on location the 950 litre highway tow JetA1 fuel bowser becomes a vital piece of equipment. By having a road legal fuel bowser you are able to tow your JetA1 fuel to wherever you aircraft is parked. For example many air ambulances / search and rescue, NPAS (police helicopters) and flying clubs use road towable JetA1 fuel bowsers to refuel their aircraft some may be used while airside at their operating bases and tow the fuel bowser from one aircraft to another to refuel the fleet at home, but then they can also have the opportunity to tow the JetA1 fuel bowser further a field to continue flying operations further away from the airfield. The Queens flight is a perfect example Trailer Engineering has in the past supplied a JetA1 fuel bowser for the Queens flight in which was used to refuel the helicopter and then drive to the helicopters next destination to the refuel it for the way back. You may also find plenty of JetA1 fuel bowsers being used at events such as horse racing where helicopters fly into the race coarse and then require refuelling for the way home.

Trailer Engineering’s 950 litre JetA1 fuel bowser is perfect for small to medium aircraft refuelling tasks. Ideal for private helicopter owners, flying clubs, airfield operations and refuelling helicopters at events.

This 950 litre Jet A1 fuel bowser is fully U.N. and CAA (civil aviation authority) certified.

The Trailer Engineering JetA1 fuel bowser is manufactured from a steel outer bund complete with lockable rear door and a polyethylene inner tank to ensure the cleanest possible fuel storage solution. This is a cleaner way to store JetA1 fuel as the polyethylene tank produces less condensation than the conventional steel tank meaning there is less water in the fuel and also polyethylene does not rust/corrode meaning there is no particles from the actual fuel tank over its lifetime. This JetA1 fuel bowsers tank/bund also has two fork sockets (for use when tank is not in trailer) four lifting points.

All of Trailer Engineering’s fuel bowser range can be configured as skid base tanks, site towable trailers and E.U approved highway tow trailers.

Constructed from 100 x 50 RSC fully welded with front standing plate and an ‘A’ frame drawbar. All hot dip galvanised.


Single Knott-Avonride 1500kg torsion beam axle and fitted with 200 x 50 Auto reverse brakes on 4 stud 51⁄2”pcd hubs

Cylindrical in section constructed from 3mm mild steel, with removable top section for tank access. Rear access door, fitted with stainless steel hinge and fully lockable. Bund contains 110% of inner tank. 4 lifting eyes, fork truck sockets for use when tank is not fitted in a chassis.


Constructed from translucent heavy duty polyethylene with a capacity of 980 Litres. 2” filler with cap & chain. 1” manual vent valve, 1⁄2” top mounted suction & return connections. P.R.V. In the top of the tank. Ball valve in base of tank to pump.


12v Flameproof Pump. 100AH battery in box, Facet filter monitor, 7m Hose. Bonding Reel, ZVF Trigger Nozzle. Sample Hand Pump Non Resale Flowmeter.


Tank- Primer and two top coats, single British Standard colour. Galvanised Chassis.

    Delivery Information & Exclusions.

    * UK Mainland Delivery, Delivery price above Excludes Northern Ireland, Northern Scotland & Isles, West Wales, coastal areas Etc Price On Application (POA).

    *For none UK Deliveries POA.

    *Offloading of heavy items such as bowsers & tanks should be made by a forklift with extended forks or similar heavy lifting equipment. If you will be offloading via an overhead crane and require delivery to be made on flat bed vehicle please advise prior to purchase as additional charges may apply, our standard delivery vehicles are normally curtain sided vehicles and don’t allow access for overhead cranes. If a forklift with extended forks is not available to offload, please advise prior to purchase as we can make alternative arrangements i.e. Via HIAB Delivery. However, these special deliveries will be POA.

    *Delivery is a kerbside service only, and not a “drop at your door service”. Arrangements must be made by the customer to manoeuvre the tanks into position.

    * It is the customers responsibility to ensure that there is safe and adequate access for large lorries.

    *Trailer Engineering Will contact you prior to despatch to advise delivery date, if for any reason delivery is attempted and failed on the advised date, it is the customers responsibility to cover the initial transport costs and any additional charges to get the units back to ourselves and Re-delivered on another date. Therefore, it is vital that if delivery is expected on a specific date that someone is available with the correct offloading facilities and can sign for the goods at the delivery address as additional charges for failed deliveries can be significant.

    *As offloading is the customers responsibility any damages to the units which is caused during the offloading process wouldn’t be covered under warranty and would be the customers responsibility.

    *Tanks cannot be left without a customer’s signature.
