Plymouth Marine

The Challenge

We were approached by Plymouth Marine to replace an existing vacuum tank mounted on barges for the emptying of septic tanks used by the Environment agency as the ones that we had previously supplied over twenty years ago were worn out.

The Solution

We submitted new tank design to Zurich insurance who approved design and Trailer Engineering began the build. It was twenty years since the last build and needed to check it met the current regulations. Once the design was approved the build could go ahead.

The Result

The Environment agency are now currently operating two 1250 gallon vacuum tanks up and Down the river Thames emptying hard to access septic tanks.

The unit is powered by a Yanmar diesel electric start engine driving a vacuum pump and it is totally self-reliant.

Trailer Engineering offer a full range of bespoke vacuum tanks from highway tow, site tow to skid bases in a variety of sizes supplying many sectors of the industry.
